COMMERCIAL PILOT ADDITIONAL RATING COURSE
ROTORCRAFT/HELICOPTER | Robinson R22, R44, & S300
Students who hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate in a category other than Rotorcraft/Helicopter (such as Airplane) may add the Commercial Helicopter Rating without taking the Private Additional Practical Test and the Commercial Helicopter Knowledge Test. Please note that this course is available only to Commercial pilots who have no previous Rotorcraft/Helicopter experience. This course includes two stages of training which must be completed consecutively.
Course Details
Those students coming to the US on a student visa, or those utilizing veteran benefits or the Alaska Student Loan Program must complete both stages within 180 days each for a maximum course total of 360 days.
MINIMUM COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Hold a current FAA Third Class Medical Certificate (VA students must obtain a Second Class Medical)

Hold a valid Commercial Pilot Certificate in a category other than Rotorcraft/Helicopter

Obtain a minimum of 24 hours of helicopter dual instruction

Obtain a minimum of 10 hours of helicopter solo practice

Obtain a minimum of 6 hours of helicopter instrument training

Pass an FAA Commercial Pilot Helicopter Practical Test

Obtain a minimum of 50 hours of flight time and 30 of ground instruction as per course outline

40 hours of dual instruction

Aircraft Rental - 40.0 hrs.
